Dr. Davod Kafai (DVM, Ph.D)

Dr. Kafai graduated from Istanbul University on 1990 and has been practicing since then. He has practice experience on equine, bovine, birds and exotic pets. He has received a Ph. D. in Health Care Systems; researched on and the effectiveness of central purchasing systems, inventory control and barcoding systems over the traditional purchasing and inventory system in hospitals and health care centers. He worked in a hospital managing and analyzing hospital inventory control, upgraded traditional inventory control systems to a bar coding systems. He obtained his second Ph. D. in Food Hygiene and Food Technology and conducted a research on human contamination with life threating bacteria campylobacter Jejuni through chicken meat processing and consumption, specifically for children, elderly people or those with a debilitated immune system. He worked for Canadian Food Inspection Agency to utilize his knowledge and at Toronto Humane Society to understand shelter medicine. He is a member of The College of Veterinarians of Ontario, Ontario Veterinary Medical Association, and a member of Canadian Veterinary Medical Association, past president of Toronto Academy of Veterinary Medicine, and served in CVO discipline Committee for 6 years. He is a member of National Mentor-ship Roster Program, which deals with training and assisting foreign-trained veterinarians so that they can practice veterinary medicine in Canada and was a member of VSTEP (Veterinary Skills Training and Enhancement Program) which is supported by the provincial government and conducted by The Ontario Veterinary College. Beside his practice he offers consulting services to veterinarians with professional, legal preparation, business management, and mediation. . .
